Founded in 1946, BJS was owned by two Johansson brothers and developed a speciality of pressure-turned objects including musical instrument elements (Dizzie Gillespie was a fan) and metal lampshades. Lighting design and production in the 1950s was a major focus of BJS which continued operations until 1979.
